Pillow block bearings introduction:
A pillow block, also known as a plummer block or bearing housing, is a pedestal used to provide support for a rotating shaft with the help of compatible bearings & various accessories. Housing material for a pillow block is typically made of cast iron or cast steel.
The pillow block ball bearing is composed of a single row deep groove ball bearings with seals at both sides and spherical outside surface and a housing, suitable for simple support.
Pillow block bearings are mounted type bearings available in flanged & upright styles in different inch & metric sizes. Pillow block bearings are designed to support shafts. Features include mounting surfaces parallel to shaft axes & elongated bolt holes in bases or feet of units for adjustment & mounting of pillow block bearing. Pillow block bearings are available in bore sizes ranging from 1/2 in. to 10 in.
